There is a struggle for freedom that is taking place today that affects the lives of every man, woman, boy, and girl. There is a cry for freedom that rings out from the human heart all across the planet. If you will listen quietly then you can hear the cry coming from the plains of Africa, it can be heard in the Outback of Australia, in the jungles of Southeast Asia, flowing from the mountains of Central and South America, swirling in the desert of the Middle East, and ringing out from the countryside and cities all across America. And yet, even as the cry for freedom rings out, there are many voices urging us down dead-end roads that will never lead to the righteousness that God intends for those who live in freedom.

The reports come in on a daily basis. Another young person has succumbed to the temptations of our times and is now paying the price. Another family has received the news of the meltdown of their child’s life and now they are left to deal with the aftermath of guilt, shame, hurt, and heartache that accompanies the news. The tentacles of treachery reach out from the life of the child who has found him or herself caught up in a web of destruction they never intended to spin for themselves. When the news becomes public it shatters heart after heart like dominoes falling in cadence.

These are unsettling times. The days are filled with strife and confusion. War could break out at any moment. Our government says that terrorists are among us – and we know it. There are tremors shaking the foundation of the planet as nation rises up against nation.
