I forgot to make the announcement today, but each Sunday morning we have the morning sermon available in both written and CD form. They are located on the table as you leave church. If you would like to make a donation to help us cover the cost of producing these items we would greatly appreciate it. If you are running low on funds then don’t let that stop you from picking up a CD or printed copy of the study. We want to get the study of God’s Word in your hands. We also have CD’s of past sermons for you to take home with you.

Revelation 7:9-15

Bartimaeus was a family man. He had grown up in Pergamum, married his high school sweetheart, and they were raising their family just blocks from where he had grown up. Bartimaeus was an iron-worker, a man’s man, and all of the men in the Iron Workers Guild had a great respect for him. The Iron Workers Guild was like a modern-day Union, but with a religious flair. The iron workers were a fraternity. They worked hard, gathered at the local pub on the corner at the end of the day, and had their monthly meetings at “The Hall.”
Lynda Powell Appreciation Day
Friday, February 24th, 2006This Sunday is Lynda Powell’s last Sunday to serve as our Children’s Pastor. After 14 years of faithful service as a volunteer and member of our staff Lynda is leaving her post to take on a new assignment from the Lord. We want to take the opportunity this Sunday to honor Lynda for the tremendous difference she has made in the lives of so many of us at BCC. Lynda has been such a blessing to the children and families of BCC and this is our opportunity to let Lynda know how much we love and appreciate her.
It is such a blessing to know that Lynda and her family will still call BCC “home.” Lynda will continue to serve on our “Children’s Council” and mentor our newest staff member, Kristin Wilsey, our new Children’s Pastor.

Sunday Snow
Sunday, February 19th, 2006Sunday morning there was snow and sleet hitting the window when I woke up. Snow, or any kind of “bad” weather always means attendance at church will be slim. As I got up and began to get ready for the day I was watching the “scroll” at the top of the tv screen announcing all of the churches that would be closed today. I figured since so many churches would be closed that we would have a full house. ha! That’s not the reason why we’ve never closed in the past fifteen years. The real reason that we don’t close is because there might be somebody who desperately needs to worship, to pour their hearts out before God, and have Him pour His grace out upon their broken hearts. How tragic it would if they came to BCC and found the door locked.
As it turned out there were more than a few who felt the need to venture out into the snow and sleet to have their hearts warmed with the familiar songs and to anchor themselves once again in the Word of God. What a blessed day it was!
Sealed and Secure
Revelation 7:1-8
Sunday, February 19th, 2006
This is our sixteenth study in the book of Revelation and I hope that you are being encouraged as each week we take another step in seeking to understand God’s Word. I want us to remember the words of Dr. Bruce Waltke when he said that “Revelation has at least three applications: for those living in the first century, those who will be alive at the last battle, and those who read it during their own time.”
Who Can Stand?
Revelation 6:1-17
Sunday, February 12th, 2006
Vernon Howell was born in 1959 in Houston, Texas. He was born to a 15 year old single mom and never knew his father. Vernon’s grandparents took care of him while he was growing up, but the kids at school mocked and made fun of him. You know Vernon as David Koresh, the leader of the Branch Davidians, who died in a fiery inferno in Waco, Texas on April 19, 1993 along with 86 of his followers.
The Worship of The Little Lamb
Revelation 5:7-14
Sunday, February 5th, 2006
Worship. We are a nation of worshippers who live in a world full of worshippers. The Miriam-Webster Dictionary defines “worship” as “worthiness, respect, reverence paid to a divine being, an act of expressing such reverence, or extravagant respect or admiration for or devotion to an object of esteem.” When you heard me mention the word “worship” you probably thought that I was talking about the worship of God, but I was merely describing what I see taking place in our society and around the world. When you understand the definition of “worship” as “extravagant respect or admiration for or devotion to an object of esteem” then you can look at the actions and expressions of people in all kinds of settings and understand what is taking place. Let me give you a few examples.
