Good Morning Everyone,
Words can’t express the joy, excitement, and gratitude I feel at this moment as I look back over a weekend full of blessings! The Fall Festival was beyond fun and Friend Day was more than I ever dreamed it would be. Those who came to share in these events have no idea how hard so many of you worked to make these wonderful experiences possible. Thanks to everyone who helped in any way. You are such a blessing!
It is such an honor for me to have the opportunity to serve alongside of such wonderfully gifted and committed people. Your talents are matched only by your willingness to serve. I know that there were many kids and adults alike who walked away from BCC this past weekend and knew that they had been a part of something special. Have a great week.
What a blessing it is to welcome all of you to “Friend Day” at Britton Christian Church. Friends are unique gifts from Almighty God. Each of you who have taken time out of your busy schedule to come and share with us in worship today are important to us, we cherish the friendship that God has given us with each of you. We thank God for you, we pray for you, and value your trust, love, forgiveness, and companionship immensely. We are so grateful to Almighty God for you because you have chosen to love us, to share your life with us, and to bless us in such important ways.
Last year we were given a great opportunity to bless those in our community at Thanksgiving by providing turkeys for the Brit Vil Food Pantry. We raised over $5,000.00, which provided over 500 turkeys for Thanksgiving baskets.
This year we have been given another great opportunity to be a blessing. For the next three weeks we will be receiving donations for Thanksgiving turkeys once again. If you would like to bless those in our community by providing a Thanksgiving turkey then you can make your check out to the Britvil Food Pantry and put it in the offering plate on Sunday morning. For each $10 donation one turkey will be donated to Brit Vil. Thanks in advance for being a blessing and making someone’s Thanksgiving special.
Witnessing the culmination, the end result of commitment excites us doesn’t it? My heart is stirred by people who make huge sacrifices to pursue something that others think is out of reach, something outside of their comfort zone, possibly even beyond their ability. Those rare folks whose ears tune out the world’s voice crying out, “You can’t! You shouldn’t! You won’t!” are the men and women that we remember. They are the ones who willingly say, “No!” to many things in order that they can say, “Yes!” emphatically “Yes!” to one thing—and they stick with it. The world may ridicule this single-minded mentality, but what has the world ever accomplished? The crowd may snicker and make jokes, but what has the crowd ever done that’s been of lasting value?

The holidays are approaching and if you have experienced a loss it can be a very tough time of year. With this in mind, we are going to offer a class called “Coping With Grief During The Holidays.” It will be a one night only class. It is scheduled for Sunday, November 5, from 7:00-8:30 pm. and will be led by Lisa Curtis. There are books that we will provide for all participants in the class, but we need a head count of those who will be involved ASAP. If you, or someone you know, is interested in taking the class you can call the church office at 848-2046 to reserve your place.

On Sunday 10/15, we had a wonderful baby shower for Kayla Richerson, pictured here with her parents, Cassie and Steve.

Pastor Herman Stevenson welcomes the Isaac Family to Britton Christian Church. Pictured are Del and Linda with their childre, Shad and Patti. We are glad the Lord has sent you to BCC!
We want to remind you that two weeks from Sunday we will have our annual “Friend Day” at Britton Christian Church. I hope you are praying about the friend that God would have you invite to join you for breakfast at 9:30 am and worship at either 8:30 or 10:40 am.
The weekend of October 27-29 will be a big weekend for us at Britton Christian Church as we will provide a safe, fun environment for kids who will be out for Halloween on Friday, October 27. Our Fall Fest is so much fun, not just kids, so call the church office at 848-2046 to find out how you can get involved. One way that you can help immediately is to donate bagged candy to be given out to the kids at Fall Fest. Make plans to join us for Fall Fest and Friend Day.
We are going to have an all out youth war on the paint ball field. Make sure that you wear warm comfortable clothing, and come prepared to have a great time. We will be leaving the church at 1 pm, and arriving back at 5 pm.
The last three weeks we have been studying Revelation 12-13. We’ve learned about the “enormous red dragon” and the two beasts. When I turned to Revelation 14 this week I didn’t see the dragon or the two beasts anywhere, but I saw a glorious scene—the Lamb standing on Mount Zion with 144,000 gathered around Him.

We will be preparing for our Christmas Concert for the next few Sundays. We would love to have you join us, so that we would be able to be prepared and bless our congregation on December 3rd. And, remember when you show up for choir, you can enter your name into a drawing. The winner will win a free paid 2007 BCC Ski Trip on Spring Break!
Come join the youth as we serve the homeless of OKC. We have the privilege to lead in worship, testimonies, and serve a hot meal to those less fortunate than us. This is a great ministry in which we actually get to put the Bible into practice. We would love to have you join us this coming Sunday. We will meet at the church 9:30 a.m., and will return by 1:30 p.m.
We have learned in our study of Revelation that Domitian was ruling the Roman Empire at the end of the first century when John was exiled to the island of Patmos. We’ve also discussed Domitian’s hatred of the Christians of his day and his plan to establish himself as the most venerated and adored among his subjects. Seutonius said, “He (Domitian) loved to hear, ‘Hail to the Lord…’” Domitian employed poets to write about him. The poet’s entire job consisted of writing praises to the emperor. One of Domitian’s court poets wrote, “May I gaze upon Thee, hope of mankind, and favorite of the gods.”
