Today, we come to the 16th chapter of Revelation. The seven “Bowl judgments” are the last of the three cycles of judgment presented in the Book of Revelation. The opening of the seven seals took place back at Revelation 6:1-17. The blowing of the seven trumpets took place in Revelation 8:2-11:19 with the seventh trumpet blast being heard in Revelation 11:15-19. Now we come to the pouring out of the seven bowl judgments.

BCC Welcomes Shay, Tom, and Harriet!
Sunday, January 28th, 2007We want to introduce you to BCC’s newest members. Tom and Harriet Weirich have been involved in BCC for quite some time now. They are a blessing to the life of our church and community. Shay Johnson has also been attending BCC for some time, but last Sunday Shay asked Jesus into her heart as her Lord and Savior. What a blessing it was to share in Shay’s baptism!

The Song of Moses and of The Lamb
Revelation 15
Sunday, January 21st, 2007
God is the Sovereign Lord of history. He is fully in control. He sees what’s going on and He is working in the midst of our days to bring about His will and purpose for all of creation and history. History is truly “His story.” There are those like Domitian, the Roman Emperor in power when John wrote Revelation, who rise up and arrogantly think that they can do whatever they wish, regardless of God’s commands, and get away with it. They are sadly mistaken. There are those in our day, like Saddam Hussein, who live like they are accountable to no one, but God is still in control and He holds all of us accountable for our actions. Saddam lived his life in utter defiance of Almighty God. He gained more and more power as the leader of Iraq and yet with his increasing power, his leadership became more and more of a noose around the neck of the Iraqi people rather than a source of security and comfort for them.

No 8:30 am Service on Sunday, January 21
Saturday, January 20th, 2007Hi Everyone,
I wanted to let you know that we will not have the early service tomorrow morning. Everything else is on schedule. I just got back from driving around and the roads are fine. It is supposed to slip below freezing tonight, but not much below. Hope to see you tomorrow.
In His Steps, Mike
Stay Tuned For News About Sunday’s Service
Friday, January 19th, 2007With the big snowstorm that is coming our way there are many folks wondering if we will have worship on Sunday. We will, at least have one service at 10:40 am, just like last week. Come back tomorrow and we will let you know the straight scoop for Sunday schedule.
“This Is The Day…”
Thursday, January 18th, 2007“This is the day that the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24 NIV)
The last several weeks have been full of funerals. I did three funerals in a six day span of time at one point in December. All of the old timers say that funerals come in three’s. I don’t know so much about the science of the statement, but I do know that when I said, “Amen!” at the third funeral I thought, “Now I can catch my breath.” Wrong.
It’s been three weeks since the third of the three funerals took place. I’ve been preparing for the memorial service of my friend, Stillman, this week. On Wednesday night, after I got home from Bible study, I got a phone call informing me that another man in our church, 37 years old, had died during the day. Went to sleep and never woke up.
Five deaths in a month. Five families broken-hearted. Five people whose lives came to a sudden halt. Five opportunities to stop, consider, pray, and give thanks for “today.”
We live our lives, most of us anyway, like we have a thousand tomorrows before us. We put off what is truly important to amuse ourselves, distract ourselves, numb ourselves with the trivial. We assume when we lay our head down at night that we will raise it up again in the morning. We rarely, if ever, stop in the midst of the rush of life and give thanks to the God of life, the Giver of life.
Today, this very moment in time is a gift from His hand. With all of the heartache, challenges, joys, disappointments, hopes, and frustrations that you and I will face or celebrate today–today is a priceless and precious gift.
God Speaks
Sunday, January 14th, 2007 This morning I want to take the time to pursue a rabbit trail that I ran into this past week as I was studying Revelation 15. In studying Revelation we have learned that there are three cycles of judgment—the seal judgments, the trumpet judgments, and the bowl judgments that we will be studying over the next two weeks. With so much judgment there are many who question the love and mercy of God. People, who have not taken the time to study God’s Word, will say, “How can you say that God is a God of love if He judges people?” That is a fair question.

One Service @10:40 am Sunday, January, 14
Saturday, January 13th, 2007I know many of you are wondering, “With all of the sleet and ice I’m wondering if we’re going to have church on Sunday?” Yes, for those who want to brave the ice then come on. We will have one service only, no early service, no Sunday school, but one service at 10:40 am.
In all of our years we’ve not closed the doors on Sunday. The reason for this is because there may be somebody who desperately needs to come to church to worship and seek the Lord. Because of this we always open on Sunday regardless of how bad the weather is. At the same time, we don’t want to encourage anybody to get out on the ice if they don’t feel comfortable in doing so. So, with that said, if you want to join us Sunday, at 10:40 am then come join us as we worship the Lord together.
We Need A Piano Player
Monday, January 8th, 2007I wanted to ask you to keep your eyes and ears open. We are in need of someone who can read music and play piano to come on Wednesday nights and play for choir practice. The person would also play only the hymns during the 10:50 am worship service on Sunday mornings. We have a wonderful piano player in Patsy Snyder, who we want to play the organ for the hymns during worship. Since Patsy will be playing the organ we need someone who can compliment Patsy’s organ playing by playing the piano during the hymns. This is a paid position so if you know someone, or if you can play piano and read music, please contact Connie Hays at 848-2046.
The Word of God
Psalm 119
Sunday, January 7th, 2007
The Word of God has a history. Throughout history people have been greatly divided in their assessment of the value of the Word of God. Some have said that the Bible is divisive, destructive, and diabolical. There are others who have greatly revered the Word of God and held it in the highest esteem and admiration. There are those who have believed that the Bible is a noose around the neck of people who desire to live with no boundaries. There are others who believe that the Word of God brings freedom to those who are enslaved by sin. Some people have held that God’s Word is a negative influence upon the young. At the same time there have been those like Theodore Roosevelt who once said, “A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education.” (Theodore Roosevelt 1858-1919)
