Revelation Study Ends This Sunday

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Hi Everyone,
Back in September of 2005 we began a journey through the book of Revelation. It has been the most challenging and encouraging study that I’ve ever done and the Lord has greatly used the time I’ve gotten to spend studying His Word to stretch and bless my heart. This Sunday will be our last study, Revelation 22:6-21, and I want to encourage you to join me in worship as we take a look at “Come Lord Jesus Come!”

In His Steps,
Mike

The City of God
Revelation 21:9-22:5

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

What we are about to read you are not going to believe. What we are about to read is a description of the City of God, the glory of God, prepared for those who will spend eternity with the Father. I say, “You won’t believe it,” but I’m not suggesting that you will deny the reality of the City of God. What I mean is that the description of the City of God, the New Jerusalem, is so far beyond our realm of understanding that we can’t even begin to get our mind around what this glorious city will be like. The city is so massive, so glorious, so unbelievable that S. Lewis Johnson says, “Even a Texan can’t grasp it.” I want to prepare you for what we are about to read so that you can brace yourself, prepare yourself, for what is coming your way. I want to urge you to believe the unbelievable this morning. It really isn’t that difficult if you stop to think about it. We are told unbelievable truths all the time that we choose to believe. Let me illustrate what I am talking about this morning.

The “Wings like Eagles Award”

Monday, June 4th, 2007

Isaiah 40:30 “Even youth grow tired and weary and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on WINGS LIKE EAGLES; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Living in the shoes of our teenagers now days is a huge task. There are so many things being thrown at them, fighting for their attention. They struggle fitting in or choose to compromise in order to be accepted by their peers. Christianity is definately not the center of topic in the schools, nor is it considered cool to live set apart lives for the sake of following Christ. However, there are still alot of youth who have made the committment to let their light shine wherever he leads. They have taken a stand in their schools, homes, communities and Churches. The youth department of BCC has recognized one of those students. We have decided to give an award out each year to the student who demonstrates the qualities of that of a servant leader. The student who will let their light shine at home school, community and church. It is the “Wings Like Eagles award”. This year the Award goes out to Simone Graves, she has been faithful in growing in her walk with the Lord, always present at our Bible studies. She is the one who organizes our praise music and leads worship at the Homeless Mission Church we go to once a month as a youth group. Simone serves as a Junior Deacon, she is one of our student leaders in our Power Station Bible studies to our 5th and 6th graders on Sunday mornings, This summer she will complete her third year at Kids Across America’s leadership kamp Higher Ground with a mission trip to Belize. Simone is graduating from Classen School of Advanced Studies. She is the daughter of Renaldo and Trashasans Graves. There are a few awards she has recieved from school; Prudential Spirit of Community Certificate of Excellence, and the President’s Volunteer Service Award, she plans on attending Cameron University on a Vocal Music Talent Scholorship and Freshman Merit Scholorship. She would like to have a career in event planning and Missions. We are so proud of Simone.

2007 Graduates of BCC

Monday, June 4th, 2007

What an awesome time we had yesterday morning honoring our Graduates of 2007. It has been fun watching these young folks grow up. There were 6 student who graduated from College that were in our youth ministry when my wife and I first came to Oklahoma City. How awesome it is to have been able to watch them complete another chapter of their lives. We look foward to seeing how the Lord is going to use them for His Glory!

It is with great honor to celebrate with our High School youth who have endured the times of testing and persevered through the days they felt like throwing in the towel. They can look foward to a new task and adventure as they enter College this coming fall. We at BCC are so proud of you.
