Matthew 28.1919 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)

After 30 years of being involved in ministry I’ve noticed that about every 3-5 years there is a new book followed by a new conference that hits the Christian market and promises to revolutionize the Church. Some of the new strategies, new technologies, new methods of presentation and practice are really quite creative. Some are even helpful to the Body of Christ as we seek to be faithful to God’s call on our lives to be His people.

I’m grateful for technology and the opportunities it gives us as a church to make the teaching of God’s Word available for free to people all over the world. It seems like it is becoming more and more frequent that I see a stranger in morning worship and ask, “How did you find out about Britton Christian Church?” and they tell me, “I found you on the internet.” That’s super exciting to me, but I know that a web presence will never replace a face-to-face encounter as the main means of God’s work. Jesus told His disciples,

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)

“Go…” We are not called to sit in front of a computer screen, but to go. Go to work and share God’s love. Go to practice and let His light shine. Go to your neighbor who is going through tough times and pull up close during their season of suffering. Go to your friend who is celebrating some high point in their life and celebrate with them God’s rich blessings. There are many ways that God can change a person’s life, but there’s no greater method that He employs than you and me reaching out to another person and sharing with them what He has done in our own life. Now, let’s close the laptop and go!
