IMG_9128Hi Everyone,

Have I got some great pictures to share with you!? You can see all of them by clicking “Read more” at the end of my post. Before we get to the pictures let me tell you about our amazing weekend. Friday morning 48 folks loaded a charter bus and headed to Branson for a weekend of fun! Some didn’t know hardly anyone while others knew quite a few of the people on the trip. By the time we pulled back in the parking lot on Sunday afternoon we were all best buddies! I’ve been looking forward to the trip for some time, but I had no idea how much fun we would all have. Two of our people, Bill Price and Helen Anderson, are 90 yrs old! We had a few who had just turned 50, making them barely eligible for the trip. Age didn’t seem to matter at all as we were just one busload full of folks having a great time!

Before we ever arrived in Branson we stopped at Lambert’s (Home of the throw’d rolls!) It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. I had to eat with my head on a swivel so I wouldn’t get hit by a hot roll flying across the restaurant. Friday night we went to watch Shoji Tabuchi, the man with more glimmering sport coats than anybody in the world. Saturday we got started early by riding The Ducks across Table Rock Lake before we headed to The Sight and Sound Theater to watch an amazing musical called, “Jonah.” You won’t see anything better on Broadway. I wish I had a video of how we ended our night. We closed the town down at The Hot Hits Theater as we participated, and I do mean “participated” in Downtown Motown. The singers were unbelievable as they sang all of the hits of Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Lionel Richie, Earth, Wind, and Fire, The Platters, Otis Redding, Etta James, and more. The music was so good it had our people dancing in the aisles! The only people that didn’t dance were those who were afraid they might throw a hip out! 🙂 So much fun!

I hope we’ll get to go to Branson again next year. There’s one thing I enjoyed more than the shows we got to see and that’s the time I got to spend with our people. Getting away from the hustle and bustle of every day life is a great opportunity to really get to know folks. We’ve got the coolest Seniors on the planet at BCC! Now, you can enjoy our pictures by clicking “Read more.”
