Hi Everyone,

The New Year is here! I set a goal at the end of 2011 to read the Bible in 2012. I know you are probably thinking, “That’s strange for a pastor to say that he is going to read the Bible.” Well, I’ve been reading the Bible for a long time, but I’ve never read the Bible in a systematic way from Genesis through Revelation.

I knew that if I was going to reach my goal that I was going to need help. I invited some friends to join me. As of today, there are over 200 folks who have signed-up to read the Bible with me. Friends of mine have asked friends of theirs if they wanted to join them and now there is a growing group of folks of over 200 people who are reading God’s Word.

How are we doing it? Well, it’s quite easy. We are using the YouVersion Bible App and Website. This is a great way to track our reading. YouVersion will even send you an email each morning to remind you of the reading for the day. For those who don’t have a Smartphone or regular access to a computer, the same reading plan is available from the “Blue Letter Bible” website where you can print the “Old and New Testament Reading Plan” and keep it in your Bible. One of the people who signed-up has started a Facebook page where we can share what the Lord is teaching us, ask for prayer, encourage one another, etc. You can join the “Britton Bible in a Year” Facebook group by following the link.

Today, we read Day 3–Genesis 7-9 and Matthew 3. I would love for you to join us in this journey of a lifetime.

In His Steps,
Mike
